Good evening families, Today’s message will involve a lot of reminders and upcoming events:
We have two students who will celebrate birthdays during Fall Break. Both girls’ birthdays are on that last weekend of break, so please have your children come to school Monday 10/4 prepared to wish them both Happy Birthday: Miracle 10/2 and Riley S. 10/3. We hope they both enjoy wonderful weeks off for their birthdays!

Welcome back to school after our unexpected “vacation”. I too had an extended weekend, with a half day Friday, out of precaution. Turns out I’m fine and I hope everyone else is as well. For those who were out Friday, please remember a mask when you return Monday. We want to do our best to keep these incidents of illness to a minimum. I hate for anyone to be sick! ☹ Monday will be a catch up day for us, since Friday was not the day we’d all planned. Then we’ll move onto our “regularly scheduled” lessons! This week, we will go to the Library on Tuesday…bring those books back! We have a Guidance Counselor lesson on Wednesday. And Thursday we’ll visit the Computer Lab to learn about and practice with a new Reading program on the computer. If you have not already responded to the Progress Reports form to confirm that you’ve read your child’s Progress Report, please do so as soon as possible. I will contact parents who requested conferences this week to arrange those. Since we were unable to be together at the end of last week, please remind your child to wish Ayoub a Happy Birthday tomorrow. His birthday is actually tomorrow, and we hope he had a great weekend! Good evening parents, The BIG message this week is the Progress Reports which were sent home today electronically. Each family should have received a personal message in CTLS Parent with your child’s progress report for the first 4 ½ weeks of school. After reading through the progress report, please complete the quick attached Microsoft Forms questions to let me know that you received the progress report. One of the questions asks if you would like a conference to discuss your child’s grades thus far. We will have conferences with all families in October (at the end of the First Quarter). So this question is asking if you want to have a conference prior to that time. I’ll reach out to anyone who does want this earlier conference and we’ll schedule a Zoom meeting. We have another birthday to celebrate! Ayoub turns 8 on Sunday, but has asked if we can “celebrate him” on Friday since his birthday is on a weekend. Please remind your child to wish Ayoub a Happy Birthday on Friday! This week, we had a chance to visit the Science Lab for the first time this year. But it won’t be our last! We had a great time doing an experiment about matter. We have learned about the properties of matter and how matter can be described. This lab experiment introduced the idea of changing matter. We added heat to crayons to see what they would do. Check out our pictures on CTLS to see our class in action, as well as the final product. We have all 4 creations on display in our classroom 😊. Yes, folks…It’s PICTURE DAY! Tomorrow is picture day at Acworth! Picture forms were sent home last week. I’ve had a few brought back since then and I’ve held onto them. If you wish to order pictures, please return your form and payment tomorrow. Even if you don’t purchase pictures, EVERY child will have their picture taken. Choose an outfit you LOVE and practice that SMILE 😊. Reminders:
