Welcome back! I look forward to seeing everyone’s bright and shining (or tired and dragging) faces tomorrow morning. I hope that this past week was restful for you. Whether you traveled somewhere around the world, or no further than couch to kitchen, I hope you have enjoyed your time together as a family. Over the next few weeks, we will finish our 3rd quarter in school. Can you believe it? We’re almost 75% finished with our 2nd grade year together! The quarter ends on 3/16 and report cards go home the next week. Just prior to that, we’ll complete end of quarter reading and math assessments to see how we continue to grow in both of these subjects. I am excited to see how far each of us has come since August! Next week, we will celebrate Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2. All day we will enjoy various stories and book activities. I’m hoping to do something special with our class to celebrate, but need to OK it by Ms. Nelson. Look for a notice going home Monday or Tuesday. Friday, March 4 is our Spring Picture day. This is a time for students to have individual pictures taken. We will also all participate in our Class Picture. I always love class picture day, and I cherish the memories that are created. A paper went home before break about pictures, and more will come this week. Lastly, I wanted to remind you that Monday, March 7th will be an early release day. Students will be released from school 2 hours early. If they ride the bus, their bus should arrive home roughly 2 hours before their normal time. If your child is a car rider, please be sure to arrive 2 hours early to pick them up! ASP will be available that day if you need for your child to go there when school dismisses.
